Service Support Volunteer – Contribute to AMIS’s core charitable mission by enhancing our helpline capacity to provide a welcoming, inclusive, informative, and responsive service to men, concerned family members, and professionals throughout Scotland.
Local Hero Volunteer – This initiative, supported by the Tudor Trust and The National Lottery Community Fund, aims to engage volunteers in outreach work. Volunteers will foster community connections, raise awareness of AMIS’s work, and strengthen our ability to support male victims by establishing effective partnerships with local services in targeted communities.
Fundraising Volunteer – As a small charity, we are seeking individuals with an interest and skills in fundraising to assist in our cause and development. AMIS is committed to enhancing its fundraising capabilities and provides opportunities for volunteers to participate in new and established fundraising events.
Publicity and Promotion Volunteer – We welcome individuals with creative flair and a passion for creating posters, flyers, and accurate publicity materials to support our activities. Those interested in media work can contribute to expanding our online presence, creating, updating, and engaging with social media content, and extending our outreach to underserved service users.
Young Persons Volunteer – The typical minimum age for volunteering with AMIS is 18 years old, but there are opportunities for younger individuals to become involved through their schools. This could involve participating in school-organized charity fundraisers or engaging in the Youth Philanthropy Initiative (YPI). These opportunities enable young people to raise awareness about men’s victimization and mental health while honing essential organizational and social skills by coordinating fundraising events at their schools.
Please note: Volunteers are not limited to a single role and are welcome to take on multiple volunteering positions. There may be a crossover of skills required as AMIS delivers its current and future work.
Please note: Some of our volunteering positions can also be seen as ‘one-off’ opportunities. This means individuals fulfil the roles and responsibilities described but only commit to a single experience. This could involve completing a specific task or a 24-hour position, such as distributing posters to local cafes, creating a social media post, or assisting at a fundraising event.
