On 28 August, we had the pleasure of delivering a session on male domestic abuse, looking at what domestic abuse can look like for men, some of the barriers that can make it difficult to recognise or disclose abuse, how we can respond when someone reaches out for support and the work we do at AMIS.

It was a really engaged group, with everyone getting involved, sharing their thoughts and contributing to some great discussions.

We finished with our “Through the Noise” activity, definitely a challenging one! Everyone took it head on, and the conversations afterwards showed just how clearly the message had landed: when someone is living with abuse, trying to think clearly, make decisions or simply deal with everyday life can become incredibly difficult when there is so much else going on around them.

A huge thank you to everyone at Men Matter Scotland for making us so welcome and for throwing themselves into the session – including the slightly chaotic final activity!

Great conversations, lots of participation and a really enjoyable afternoon. We look forward to continue working with you.
